This year, on March 22nd, BlueBee Project took part in our first Hike for Hope in Galveston, TX, with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). This incredible organization raises awareness for suicide prevention and provides vital programs to support individuals and families affected by suicide. We joined hundreds of others each carrying their own connection to suicide; united in hope and remembrance.
Team Nathan’s BlueBee Project and our supporters included Nathan’s family, friends, and community. Some of them never had the opportunity to meet Nathan and yet, his story moved them to join our team in support of Suicide Prevention. These amazing individuals each reminded us that no one is ever alone in this journey. The support we received was overwhelming, and because of the generosity of so many, we reached our fundraising goal of $4,000. Every dollar we raised reflects a message of hope inspired by Nathan.
We weren’t just honoring Nathan’s memory in Galveston. Naturally, the salty breeze off the gulf was a gentle reminder of the many unforgettable memories and laughs our family made in Galveston with him. But this walk wasn’t just about remembering; with every stride we shared our story of unimaginable pain, love, and hope that even in the darkest moments, healing is possible. In sharing our story, we hope to remind others that they, too, can find their way forward—one step at a time.
We would love for you to join us at our next (or your local) Hike for Hope, hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Whether you’ve been personally impacted or simply want to stand in support of this important cause, your presence matters. Every step we take helps raise awareness, funds vital suicide prevention programs, and reminds others that they are not alone. You will also be surrounding yourself with a compassionate community that cares. Let’s walk together toward hope, healing, and change. Together, we can turn pain into purpose and ensure that hope always has a voice. We can’t wait to see you there!
Until then, remember: #BlueBeeProject Sees You—Breaking the Silence, Building Hope.
